Pentax WG-90 is the latest replacement model for Ricoh WG-80.

The WG-90’s solid, airtight body is not only waterproof down to a depth of (46 feet) 14 meters for up to two hours of continuous operation (equivalent to IPX 8 or JIS Class 8), but is also shockproof against a fall from a height of five feet (1.6 meters),* and dustproof (equivalent to IPX 6 or JIS Class 6), freeze-proof to temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C), and crushproof against weights up to 100kgf (kilogram force).

Enjoy the high-definition image quality offered by a camera with an approximately 16 effective megapixels, a lens with 5× optical zoom starting from a wide-angle of 28 mm, and image processing incorporating “ultra-high resolution” technology.

The WG-90 also boasts six LED lamps arranged around the lens to provide lighting for macro photography. You can now change the brightness of the Ring Light during macro shooting. Its Digital Microscope mode supports super macro photography. The WG-90 offers new image size options of up to 12M that further enhance the potential of Digital Microscope mode with pictures that can printed at large sizes or cropped during post-processing.

While the camera can of course record Full HD (16:9) video at 30 fps, it also offers a High Speed Movie mode for recording slow-motion video and an Underwater Movie mode suited to underwater movie recording. Movie and Underwater Movie modes offer Movie SR (shake reduction), which can be used to reduce the effects of camera shake. The camera’s HDMI connector (Type D) lets you display movies on TVs and other devices.

The WG-90 comes equipped with a 2.7-inch LCD monitor with horizontally expanded 16:9 proportions and approximately 230,000 dots. Thanks to the AR (Anti-Reflection) coating applied to its surface, the monitor minimizes annoying glare and reflections to assure a sharp, clear on-screen image, even in the harsh sunshine often encountered during outdoor shooting. It also provides the Outdoor View Setting mode, which automatically optimizes the monitor’s brightness level for a given lighting condition to improve the visibility of the on- screen image.

The Pentax WG-90 is also worksite-ready. Equipped with a chassis featuring the uncompromising water-, dust-, cold-, and shock-resistance so essential for construction and factory operations.
