In response to the excitement of Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Special Limited Kit which was limited to 2000 units worldwide ( now no longer available), Ricoh released this Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Edition Kit.

What is the differences between Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Edition Kit vs Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Special Limited Kit? Mechanically and Electronically they are identical. This kit does not come with the free Metal Hotshoe Engraving and leather handstrap that was bundled into Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Special Limited Kit.

Urban Edition Specialized Finish
The Ricoh GR IIIx Urban Edition Digital Camera is accented by a navy-blue ring around the lens barrel. This color was selected to represent typical street shooter imagery such as deep blue skies reflected in a puddle following a rainfall or the bright neon signs of a never-sleeping city. The camera body is finished in metallic gray, reminiscent of the gritty tones of the urban landscape. This unique exterior finish requires a multi-coat process, which results in the camera’s distinctive appearance and smooth texture. The coating also helps make it easier for you to get a firm grip on the camera.

Shutdown Screen
Exclusive to GR IIIx Urban Edition, when the camera’s power is turned off, the camera displays an original shutdown screen featuring the product logo and a street view image symbolizing the urban-oriented concept.

The camera’s large 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and GR Engine 6 optimize its image resolving power, and the camera is equipped with a high-speed hybrid autofocus system, built-in shake reduction, and provides a range of upgraded post-shooting functions so you can edit captured images in-camera. Its short start-up time of approximately 0.8 seconds allows for quick, responsive shooting, while a 3″ 1.037m-dot LCD allows for image composition, playback, and menu navigation.
